How To: Choose The Right Underwear For Your Outfit
You know the story: we all have stacks of sexy lingerie that we bought because it seemed like a good idea at the time.
But a lot of it goes unworn because it isn't suitable for our outfits. From visible panty lines to colours and patterns showing through
our clothes, there are a number of reasons why we live in the same few sets of old faithful lingerie. Help is on hand, though! This
lingerie guide tells you everything you need to know about what underwear to wear with what clothing, and how to avoid buying pretty
bras and pants that you'll never get to wear.
Problem: You have a white dress and need to avoid your underwear showing through it.
Solution: Firstly, never wear white underwear with a white outfit! It will actually make your underwear show up more, and you'll end up with a bright white glow of your bra and knickers beneath your clothes. Instead, opt for lingerie in a nude colour to blend with your skin.
Problem: You've got a pair of trousers that are rather cosy around the rear, and you don't want to end up with a visible panty line.
Solution: There are a few options with this one. First would be to wear a thong or G-string. With no seams around the bum or thighs, there's no chance of a visible panty line! If thongs aren't your thing, there are still answers to this problem. There are many knickers made specifically to avoid a VPL, and French knickers usually also do the job. Because they tend to have softer lines rather than heavy elasticated seams, your visible panty line is eradicated, leaving you with a seamless derriere. And if all else fails, you could always go commando!
Problem: You've bought the perfect little dress for your friend's wedding, but it has asymmetric straps, and you're really not happy with the thought of going bra-less.
Solution: There are so many bras out there that can help with this problem. From strapless bras to bras with clear straps or diamante feature straps to add an extra sparkle. There are also bras that come with clear straps, so you can be supported where needed without it spoiling the look of your dress.
Problem: You've been dating someone for a while now and you think tonight could be 'the night'. You want to look good, without appearing too full on.
Solution: Red underwear is undoubtedly great for a sexy siren look, but for the first night with a new Bo, it can sometimes be a little full on. If you want to look great without going over the top, opt for a black underwear set in a plain fabric, or perhaps lacy pastels and cute prints. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and beautiful, so don't go buying underwear you wouldn't normally be happy wearing just because you want to try and impress.
Whatever the occasion, make sure you always wear the lingerie that makes you feel at your best. Whether that's
because it's comfortable, cute, seductive, or all three!
